About Nepalwide

What is Nepalwide?

Nepalwide is a collection of archives, directories, and discovery tools dedicated to making information in Nepal easier to find, understand, and use.

Its projects bring together information that is often scattered across websites, platforms, and public sources, organizing it into simple, searchable resources that anyone can access.

Whether it's media, public information, educational resources, or everyday knowledge, the goal is the same: to make information more accessible for everyone.

Our Story

Think about the difference between a home and a junkyard.

Both may contain similar things, but a home has structure. Everything has its place. Things are cared for. They are easier to find when you need them.

Information on the internet often feels like a junkyard. The things people are looking for are scattered across countless websites, platforms, and corners of the web. The information exists, but finding it can be frustrating.

Many of Nepalwide's projects begin with a simple thought:

"Yesto bhaidiyeko vaye."

"It would have been helpful if this existed."

That simple idea becomes an archive, a directory, or a discovery tool that makes finding information a little easier.

Why Nepalwide Exists

Information is most valuable when it is accessible.

When knowledge is scattered or difficult to find, it becomes less useful to the people who need it. Organizing information is not about creating something new — it's about making what already exists easier to discover, navigate, and understand.

Nepalwide exists to collect, organize, and preserve information so it remains accessible to everyone.

Our Vision

The vision is simple: to give information a home.

A place where Nepal's knowledge, media, public resources, and everyday information are organized instead of scattered, searchable instead of hidden, and accessible instead of difficult to find.

ONE ARCHIVE, ONE DIRECTORY, AND ONE DISCOVERY TOOL AT A TIME.

A PERSONAL NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER

The reason behind everything we do

One lifetime may not be enough.

Some days, I feel like I was born to build and preserve a well-organized archive of everything our country has to offer. Yet I know that one lifetime may never be enough. Even if I devoted every waking hour to it, there would still be more to collect, improve, and share. I often resent the fact that I can only dedicate the hours outside my regular work — early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and vacations — to something I care so deeply about.

There is something deeply fulfilling about creating something that serves people across Nepal. Nothing makes me feel more alive. The people around me often notice that I am happiest when working on the simplest tasks — uploading new books, movies, and learning materials, especially during the time I decide to dedicate to new projects.

What has always driven me is a simple thought: this might help at least one person. That belief alone has been enough for me to dedicate my teenage years, my youth, my free time, and every vacation to this cause. And I hope that when I am old, I will still be doing it — still adding, organizing, and improving — motivated by the same idea that has guided me from the beginning: that it may help someone, somewhere, when they need it.

This has never been my full-time job. It has been my lifelong commitment.
